Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and dark forces growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team access locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to form the Explorers and Strategists groups.
Fans can anticipate learning which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
